The Royal girls’ playoff run ends with 69-48 loss to Pasadena. Jessi Selleh scored 20 points for the Highlanders. Erika Ward scored 10 and Becca Heteniak added 7 points. The Highlander girls finished with a 17-11 overall record

The CIF playoff dream ended in the second quarter for the Simi Valley boys with a 73-54 loss to Villa Park. Villa Park made a 21-6 point run in the quarter. Pioneer Collin Franklin scored 14 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. Lorne Jackson had 15 points. The Pioneers finish the season with an 18-12 overall record.

The Royal girls’ pulled off the upset of the playoffs thus far by defeating #1 seed Ventura, 54-44.  The Highlander's were lead by Erika Ward and Jessi Selleh who scored 16 points each. Selleh added 9 rebounds and Ward contributed 7 assists.  Next up is Pasadena.  Read the full game story here.

The Simi Valley boys’ continue to advance with a second round playoff win over Chino Hills, 56-47. Lorne Jackson had a game high 19 points, with 8 rebounds. Bryan Randolph had 13 points. Collin Franklin added 10 points.
The Pioneers will now face #1 Villa Park.

The Simi Valley boys’ win their first round CIF Southern Section playoff game against Mark Keppel, 63-60. Bryan Randolph had 19 points. Collin Franklin added 15 points and Brandon Simon scored 14. The Pioneers next face Chino Hills in a second-round match.

The Royal girls’ advance in the CIF Southern Section Division I playoffs with a 69-38 win over Righetti. Becca Heteniak scored 17 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. Jessi Selleh scored 11 points, including 3 3-point buckets. Erika Ward had 9 assists. Shana Moore added 10 points. The Highlanders will next meet Ventura in a second-round game.

The Simi Valley girls lost their first round playoff game to Mark Keppel, 57-37. Brittany Asplund scored 19 points for the Pioneers. The Simi Valley girls finish the year 16-11 overall.

The Simi Valley boys’ beat Valencia, 53-43, in their CIF Wildcard game to advance to the First Round of the playoffs. Collin Franklin had 10 points, 16 rebounds and 2 blocked shot to lead the Pioneers. Bryan Randolph scored 13 points and Lorne Jackson added 10 points. Simi Valley next plays Mark Keppel.

The Royal girls’ will play a first round Division I-A away match against Righetti in Pasadena on Saturday.

The Simi Valley girls’ will play a first round Division II-AA away game against Mark Keppel on Saturday.

Royal girls beat rival Simi Valley, 59-47. Highlander Becca Heteniak led the team with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Jessie Selleh scored 15 points and Erika Ward added 11. Pioneer Brittany Asplund had a game high 27 points. Royal finishes 4th in the Marmonte League at 8-6, 16-10 overall. Simi Valley is 7-7 in league.

The Simi Valley boys beat rival Royal, 71-58. Collin Franklin had 25 points and 12 rebounds for the Pioneers. Teammate Bryan Randolph had 15 points and 8 rebounds. Highlander Derick Haught had 13 points. Simi Valley finishes at 9-5 in Marmonte League play and is headed to the CIF playoff.

The Royal boys’ lost to Agoura 85-67. Chris Buckley scored 16 points and Mark Ferguson added 13, with Derek Haught tacking on 11.

The Simi Valley girls were beaten by top ranked Newbury Park, 70-58.  Brittany Asplund hit 6 3-point baskets on her way to 27 points.  The Pioneers are 4-3 in League play.

The Simi Valley Boys beat Newbury Park, 55-44.  Lorne Jackson scored 17 points and grabbed 9 rebounds.  Collin Franklin added 13 points, grabbed 7 rebounds and blocked 3 shots.  Bryan Randolph scored 11 points.  The Pioneers improved to 4-3 in League play.

The Royal boys are beaten by Moorpark, 63-54.  Derek Haught scored 17 points, including a perfect 8 for 8 at the free-throw line. Nico Svoboda contributed 14 points and Garrett Frates added 10 points and 7 rebounds.  The Highlanders are still looking for their first league win.

The Simi Valley boys beat Royal, 77-61.  Pioneer Collin Franklin scored 22 points. Teammate Brandon Simon added 17 points, which included hitting 5 3-point baskets. Lorne Bell had 10 points, as did Lorne Jackson who also had 7 assists and 4 steals.  On the Highlander side Derick Haught scored 31 points, which included 4 3-point buckets.  Chris Buckley had 11 points and Nico Svoboda added 10.

The Royal girls’ downed Simi Valley 52-41.  Highlander Jessi Selleh scored 20 points. Teammate Erika Ward added 10 points, while Becca Heteniak had 8 points and grabbed 16 rebounds.  On the Pioneer side of the sheet Brittany Asplund scored 18 points.

The Royal girls’ ran around Calabasas 78-31.  Jessi Selleh scored 22 points and had 7 assists.  Erika Ward scored 16 points and had 7 assists. Becca Heteniak scored 18 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, while Kris King pulled down another 9 boards.  The Highlanders are 10-6 overall and 202 in Marmonte league play.

The Simi Valley girls downed Calabasas 55-44.  Meaghan Goodenough had 11 points for the Pioneers. Teammate Megan Metcalf added 9 points.

The Simi Valley boys’ downed Agoura 58-57 in overtime.  Lorne Jackson put the game into overtime with a last second basket, 2 of his 12 points. Spencer Feist hit the winning basket with a second plus left in overtime. Bryan Randolph scored 19 points and had 13 rebounds.  The Pioneers are 7-7 overall and 1-1 in Marmonte League play.

The Simi Valley girls’ edged by Agoura, 41-40.  Britney Hanley hit the winning basket with less than 1 second on the clock.  Megan Metcalf scored 20 points.  The Pioneers are 10-4 overall and 1-1 in league play.

The Royal girls lose to Newbury Park, 62-45.  Jesse Selleh scored 18 points.  The Highlanders are 9-5 overall and 1-1 in Marmonte League play.

The Simi Valley girls placed third in the Arroyo Grande Tournament with a 59-41 win over Schurr.  Brittany Asplund scored a game high 21 points.  Brittany and Megan Metcalf were named to the All-Tournament team.  The Pioneers are 9-4 overall.

The Royal boys’ beat Lakeside High School of Washington, 68-46 at the Clovis Elks Tournament.  Brendon Norton set a school record with 10 3-point baskets and finished the match with a game high 36 points and 4 assists.

Montgomery downed Simi Valley in close match, 60-57, in the Torrey Pines Tournament consolation game. Collin Franklin and Lorne Jackson each scored 14 points. Bryan Randolph added 11 points with Brandon Simon contributing 10 points.

The Simi Valley girls’ beat North Bakersfield, 70-53, at the Arroyo Grande Tournament.  Brittany Asplund had a game high 23 points.  Britney Hanley added 12 points and Carrie Cline contributed 10 points.

The Simi Valley boys’ were beaten by Vista, 69-63, at the Torrey Pines Tournament.  Lorne Jackson had a team high 15 points.  Lorne Bell and Collin Franklin each added 10 points.

The Royal girls’ opened Marmonte League play with a 59-42 win over Thousand Oaks.  Erika Ward scored 14 points, 9 assists and 6 steals.  Jessi Selleh scored 14 points. Becca Heteniak notched 6 points and 8 rebounds.

The Royal boys’ dropped the Marmonte League opener 60-43 to Thousand Oaks.  Brendan Norton led the Highlanders with 10 points. Nathaniel Olison scored 9 and Joey Buttita added 8 points.

Simi Valley and Royal girls play overtime match for the Burroughs Tournament Championship.  The Pioneer’s edged the Highlanders 52-49.  Tournament MVP Brittany Asplund had 21 points, 5 rebounds and 3 steals to lead the Simi girls.  Pioneers all-tournament selections Megan Metcalf and Meaghan Goodenough each had 9 points.  Becca Heteniak had 14 points and Jessi Selleh added 10 for the Highlanders – both were selected to the all-tournament team.  Simi Valley is 6-3 and Royal is 8-4 overall.

Royal boys get first win over Golden Valley, 80-64.   At the Simi Valley Tipoff Classic Highlander Derick Haught led the team with 29 points and 6 assists.  Brenan Horton added 13 points.
