Royal’s Tonio Celotto and Grace Brethren’s Rick Elmore and Steve Gourley were named to the Star All-County Football – Defense First Team.  Royal’s Jonathan Sanders was honored on the defense Second Team.

Simi Valley’s Lorne Bell and Royal’s Alex Ponce were named to the Star All-County Football – Offense second Team.

Simi Valley and Royal players named to All-Marmonte League team.  Alex Ponce and Curtis Marsh of Royal and Lorne Bell and Devin Kelly were named to the First Team offense unit.  Honored on the First Team Defense unit were Jonathan Sanders and Jared Debo of Royal.   Receiving Second Team All-Marmonte League honors were Tim Brown,  Mardo Mardirossian, Thomas McCormick, and Cody Uebelhardt of Royal and TJ Washington, Bryan Randolph, and Nick Shaver of Simi Valley.  Honorable mention honorees included Langston Jackson, Nick Matlas, Colin Franklin, Jack Albert and Brian Grace of Simi Valley and Michael Long, Kevin Redmond, Tony Evans, Danny Jennings, and James Callaay of Royal.

Grace Brethren’s Rick Elmore was named the All-Ventura County Small Schools Defensive Lineman of the Year.  Joining Rick on the Defensive First team from Grace are Steve Gourley and Paden Hart.  Named to the All-County Small Schools Offensive First Team are Travis Chupp and Brad Willhite in the backfield and Steve Josker and Cory Elmore on the offensive line.

Grace Brethren continues to win at the CIF-SS Division XI playoffs with a 28-19 come from behind win over Oak Park.  Next up is San Jacinto in the semifinals.   Read all about it here.

Grace Brethren advances in CIF-SS Division XI playoffs with 54-0 win over Saint Anthony of Long Beach.  Grace was led by QB Travis Chupp who ran a kick-off for a TD, threw for a TD and ran for a score.  Read the game story here.

Grace Brethren’s streak of not allowing the opponents to scored ended but they scored an easy 42-6 victory over Paraclete.  Grace Brethren now moves on to the CIF-SS Division XI playoffs against St. Anthony.  Read the game story here.

Royal comes back to beat rival Simi Valley on the last minute with a field goal, 37-35.  Alas, the spot in the CIF-SS playoff goes elsewhere.   It was a solid year for the Highlanders finishing 4-3 in Marmonte League play and 6-4 overall.  The Simi Valley Pioneers did better that expected also finishing 5-5 overall and 2-5 in league.  Read all about the game there.

The Royal football team gave it the old HS try only to lose in OT.  Moorpark downed the Highlanders 20-14.  Royal has an outside chance to make the CIF-SS Playoffs if they can defeat cross-town rival Simi Valley.   Read the game story here.  

The Simi Valley football team lost to Agoura, 49-30. 

Grace Brethren scores another shut out victory, 30-0 over Montclair Prep.  After Grace’s season finale against Paraclete it will be off to the CIF playoffs.  Read about the game here.

Royal edges Marmonte League #1 Newbury Park, 14-13.  Curtis March gained 211 yards and scored both Highlander touchdowns.  Royal improved to 3-2 in league play and 5-3 overall.  Read the full story here

The Simi Valley team has run into a tough time of late losing to Moorpark, 27-0.  The Pioneers at 2-3 in Marmonte League play will need wins in the next 2 weeks to be considered for the playoffs.  Read the game story here.  

Grace Brethren scores a 62-0 win over Marshall.  Brad Willhite rushed for 90 yards and 3 touchdowns.  Matt Cull carried for 65 yards and a TD.  QB Travis Chupp threw for 104 and 2 TD’s to Rick Elmore.   Read all the details here.

Royal evens league record at 2-2 with 28-6 victory over Calabasas.  Curtis Marsh led the Highlanders rushing with 122 yards and scoring 2 touchdowns.  Read the game story here. 

Simi Valley loses a tough one to Thousand Oaks, 38-34, on last minute TD.  Their league record now even at 2-2.  Pioneer Devin Kelly ran for 197 yards and 2 touchdowns.  QB Bryan Randolph passed for 227 yards and 2 TD’s to Lorne Bell.  Read about the game here.

Grace Brethren has easy win over LA Baptist, 56-7.   Steve Gourley caught 6 passes for 132 yards and 2 touchdowns, while running for 91 yards and another score.  Grace is 5-2 over all.  Read about it here.

Grace Brethren scores 31-0 win over Valley Christian.  Matt Cull carried the ball 30 times for 211 yards. He scored TD’s on runs of 17 and 53 yards. Steve Gourley gained 69 yards and a TD and Chris McCabe had a 36 yard catch for a TD.  Grace Brethren is 4-2 overall and 2-0 in League play.

Simi Valley end s 14 year drought with 29-23 win over Westlake.  Devin Kelley rushed for 212 yards and scored 3 TD’s.  Lorne Bell made 6 receptions for 126 yards. The Pioneers are 5-0 overall and 2-0 in Marmonte League play.  Read the game story here.

Royal second half comeback comes up short against Thousand Oaks in a 28-18 loss.  Curtis Marsh rushed for 166 yards on 20 carries.  The Highlanders are 3-2 overall and 1-1 in League play.  Read the details here.

Simi Valley continues steak with 48-35 victory over Calabasas.  Devin Kelly ran for 169 yards and 3 scores.  Bryan Randolph was 8-12 passing, 103 yards and 3 scores.  Check out the game story here.

Parity appears likely in Marmonte – read about it. 

Simi Valley pulls off the upset by beating #7 Canyon 34-27.  QB Brian Randolph passed for 314 yards including 2 Touchdowns. Devin Kelley had a pair of TD’s in the 4th Quarter.  The Pioneers are 3-0. Read the whole game story here.

The Royal football team was clobbered by #3 Ventura 21-0.  QB Michael Long managed to pass fro 51 yards while still learning the Highlanders offensive system.  Read about the game here.

Grace Brethren bounced back from a tough season start to defeat Fillmore 32-13.  Brad Willhite had 3 of his 4 touchdowns in the fourth quarter to lead the attack.  Read about the game.

The Marmonte 2004 Champion Royal Highlander’s got off to a good start with a 17-12 victory over Chaminade.  However, the team’s fate for the rest of the season became a question mark when QB Kevin Harrington was pushed out of bounds and broke his non-throwing arm.  Harrington will probably miss most of the season.  Read the game story here.

The Simi Valley Pioneer football team was impressive with a 38-13 win over Pacifica High School.  QB Bryan Randolph threw for 218 years and a TD, while Devin Kelly rushed for 166 yards and 3 TD.  Read all about the game here.

Grace Brethren moved up in classification and was edged by Oak Park, 21-20.  The difference was 5 lost fumbles and 2 intercepted passes. Read about the game here

The Royal High School football team showed their strength with a 44-7 win over Channel Island.  Curtis Marsh had 17 carries for 147 yards and a touchdown.  The Highlander’s defense grabbed 5 interceptions – one for a touchdown.  Read the whole game story here. 

Simi Valley High School football team caught their second wind and scored a 20-14 victory over Highland of Palmdale.  Devin Kelley returned the second half kickoff 84 yards for a TD to put the Pioneers ahead.  Kelly rushed for 80 yards on 19 carries. Langston Jackson carried 6 times for 77 yards, including a 56 yard scoring run.  Read about the game here.
