Royal’s Becca Heteniak was honored on the Star All-County Softball First Team as an all position utility player. Becca had a .400 batting average and a 0.37 ERA pitching average for the year. Teammate Kacee Cox and Simi Valley’s Samantha Fischer were selected to the All-County Second Team.

Royal’s Rebecca Hateniak was named as the Marmonte League Pitcher of the Year. Joining Becca on the Marmonte All-League First Team were teammates Paula Vargo, Brittany Clifton and Kacee Cox. Simi Valley’s Jennifer De Fazio and Samantha Ficher were also honored on the First Team. Royal’s Kris Lesovsky and Jessi Waers and Simi Valley’s Tawny Reeger and Christine Smith were honored on the All-League Second Team.

The Royal girls’ completed competition in the Simi Valley Tournament with a 4-2 in over Rio Mesa. Jessi Waers pitched a complete game, struck out 10 and was named the tournaments best pitcher. Becca was 2 for 3 with a run scored and was named the tournament MVP. Paula Vargo added a double and a run. The Highlanders now head to the CIF- SS Playoffs.

Simi Valley lost to Newbury Park 7-0 which broke a 4th place tie in the Marmonte League and cost the Pioneers a place in the CIF playoff.

Royal shuts out Calabasas 9-0.  Becca Heteniak pitched a 2 hit shut out and finished the game with 4 RBIs on four hits.  Paula Vargo was 1 for 3 with a double, 2 RBIs and run scored.  Royal and Thousand Oaks will share the Marmonte League championship with records of 12-2.   On to the CIF Playoffs.

Royal gets 5-1 win over Hart. Becca Hetniak and Kacee Cox hit back-to-back homeruns. Jessi Waers pitched a complete game for the win.

Royal’s Becca Heteniak pitches perfect game in 4-0 win over Liberty. Becca struck out 11 batters. Heather Veitch had 2 hits while Paula Vargo and Liz Tsipouras drove in runs.

Simi Valley beat Agoura, 8-1. Christina Smith was 2 for 4 with 2 RBIs and scored a run. Kelli Killingsworth got the win in relief for an injured Kelly Eder.

Royal shut out Newbury Park, 4-0. Paula Vargo was 2 for 3 with 2 runs scored. Becca Heteniak pitched a complete game with 7 strike outs.

Royal and Simi Valley play into extra innings before the Highlanders cut lose and win 10-2 in 10 innings. Royals Brittany Clifton tied the game with a double in the 6th. Kacee Cox finished 4 for 6 with a 3 run home run in the 10th to seal the win. The Pioneer’s Sam Fischer started the scoring with an RBI triple to drive in Jen DeFazio, who had doubled. Simi Valley tried to come back in the 10th when DeFazio added an RBI.

At the Thousand Oaks Tournament, Royal won its first round match against Rosary (4-2), but lost to Riverside Poly (4-3) in the second round. Against Rosary, Brittany Clifton provided the big hit with a 2 run triple. Jesse Waers scattered 7 hits while striking out 8.

Royal goes extra innings to lose its first league game to Moorpark, 2-1. The Highlander’s are 8-1 in Marmonte League play and 13-2 overall.

Simi Valley edges Newbury Park, 1-0. Jenn DeFazio’s single drove in Jandie Hendricks for the games only run. Kelli Killingsworth pitched a 4 hitter for the win. The Pioneer’s are 3-6 in league play and 8-9 overall.

Royal gals shut out Newbury Park, 3-0. Becca Heteniak improved her record to 9-0, striking out 10, walking 4 and allowing only 2 hits. Brittany Clifton tripled home a run. Kris Kesovsky scored on the triple. Kacee Cox was 1 for 3 with an RBI and scored a run.

The Royal girls’ bounced back to shut out St. Joseph’s 11-0 at the Arroyo Grande Tournament. Becca Heteniak pitched solidly throughout the tournament. Brittany Clifton had 3 homeruns and 10 RBIs. Kacee Cox batted .785. Both Heteniak and Clifton were named to the all-tournament team.

The Royal girls’ lost their first game of the season 8-1 to St. Paul at the Arroyo Grande Tournament.

Simi Valley beat Moorpark, 2-0 at the Arroyo Grande Tournament. Kelly Killingsworth pitched a 4 hitter. Samantha Fisher had a 2 run double.

At the Arroyo Grande Tournament, the Royal girls’ beat Buena 8-2.

The Royal girls’ shutout Agoura, 5-0. Becca Heteniak scattered 4 hits with 10 strikeouts. Brittany Clifton recorded a double and an RBI. Colleen Nilles was 2 for 2 and drove in a run. The Highlanders are 6-0 in Marmonte League and 8-0 overall.

Simi Valley was shut down by Westlake, 2-0. The Pioneers are 5-6 overall and 2-5 in league play.

Royal beat Calabasas 4-1. Kacee Cox hit a 3 run home run. Kris Lesovsky added an RBI triple. Becca Heteniak went 7 innings giving up only 2 hits, 1 earned run and striking out 10.

Simi Valley beat Moorpark 4-2. Megan Boon slammed a 3 run home run for the win.

Royal get win in extra innings over Westlake, 3-2. Kacee Cox singled in the 10th inning to score Brittany Clifton for the Highlanders victory. Becca Heteniak pitched a complete game and striking out 10. Becca also drove in the game tying run in the 6th inning. The Highlander’s are 6-0 overall and 4-0 in League play.

Royal gets 8-3 win over rival Simi Valley. The Highlander’s Liz Tsipouras had 2 hits, including a triple, and 3 RBIs. Colleen Nilles had a 3 run double. Paula Vargo had 2 hits. For the Pioneers Tawny Reeger had 2 hits, including a double, and a pair of RBIs.

At the Suzanne Manlet Simi Valley Tournament, the Pioneers took two games. In the first game Simi Valley beat Fillmore 12-0. Samantha Fisher drove in 3 runs with a double and a triple, and scored 2 runs. The Pioneers beat La Reina 4-2 in the second game. Tawney Reeger drove in 2 runs. Kelly Eder pitched a 5 hitter.
