Royal’s Kelly Palmberg was named to The Star’s All-County Girls’ Water Polo First Team. Teammates Angie Rampton and Jessica Getchius were honored on the Star’s Second Team.

Royal girls’ playoff upset hopes against #1 Agoura ends with 8-4 loss. Breanna Johnson scored 2 Highlander goals. Agnes Konopka and Angie Rampton each scored a goal. The Highlanders finish the season with a 21-8 overall record. Read the whole game story here.

In their Quarterfinal playoff game the Royal girls’ water polo team gained a measure of satisfaction by reversing an earlier loss to Dos Pueblos with a 10-7 win. Andrea Cochran led the team with 3 goals. Agnes Konopka added 2 goals. Goalie Jessica Gatchius registered 10 saves. The Highlanders will next face #1 Agoura (who crushed Arroyo Grande 18-10) in a semifinal match.
Perhaps the third time is the charm.

The Royal girls’ drowned Malibu, 14-5. Highlander Kelly Palmberg scored 7 goals. Royal is 19-7 over all and will next face Dos Pueblos, a 15-3 winner over Pacifica.

The Royal girls’ crush Morro Bay, 21-2, in a CIF Playoff Wild Card round game. Kelly Palmberg scored 4 goals. The Highlanders advance to a First round match against Malibu.

The Royal girls’ water polo team lost to Thousand Oaks 6-3.  Agnes Konopka the 3 Highlander goals.  Jessica Getchius had 8 saves in goal.  The Highlanders are 5-3 overall and 1-2 in Marmonte League play.

Royal’s Adam Thomas was named the Star’s Player of the Year in Water Polo.  Joining Adam on the Star All-County Boys Water Polo first team were teammates Matt Lewis and Tyler McClure.

Adam Thomas and Matt Lewis, of the Marmonte League Champion Royal Water Polo Team were honored as the League MVP and MVP Goalie of the Year for the All-League First Team.  Joining Adam and Matt on the All-League First-Team are Highlanders Tyler McClure, Blake Hubbell, Ben Cobb and Juan Camero.  Royals’ Robert Lubell was honored on the All-League Second-Team.

The Royal girls’ water polo team downed Moorpark, 11-3.  Breanna Johnson scored 3 goals. Angie Rampton, Kathryn Price, Roxy Hacock and Kelly Palmberg each had 2 goals. The Highlanders are 5-2 overall and 1-1 in league play.

Royal’s Adam Thomas and Tyler McClure were named to the All CIF-Southern Section Water Polo First Team.   Highlander’s Blake Hubbell and Matt Lewis were named to the second and third teams respectively.

The Royal girls’ were beaten by #1 Agoura, 13-9.  Agnes Konopka, Breanna Johnson, Angie Rampton and Kelly Palmberg all scored 2 goals each.  The Highlander’s are 4-2 overall and 0-1 in Marmonte League play.

For the second year the championship dream was spoiled by top ranked Dos Pueblos, 18-10.  Tyler McClure had 3 goals for the Highlanders. Teammates Ben Cobb and Blake Hubbell each scored 2 goals.  Read the game story here.

The highly rated Royal water polo team advanced in the playoff’s with a 15-8 win over San Luis Obispo.  Highlander Adam Thomas and Ben Cobb scored 4 goals each. Blake Hubbell and Tyler McClure each added 3 goals. Goalie Matt Lewis made 9 saves.  Royal will next face Buena.

Royal splashes through Thousand Oaks, 14-7.  Ben Cobb scored 4 goals. Adam Thomas and Blake Hubbell each scores 3 goals.  The Highlanders remain unbeaten in league play at 11-0, 24-4 overall.

The Royal boys’ water polo team drowned Westlake, 8-3.  Adam Thomas scored 3 goals.  Teammate Blake Hubbell added 2 goals.  Goalie Matt Lewis made 8 saves.  The Highlander’s are 9-0 in Marmonte League play and 21-4 overall.

#1 Royal edges by #2 Agoura, 8-7.  Tyler McClure scored a late fourth quarter goal for the win.  Blake Hubbell, Adam Thomas and Tyler each had 2 goals in the contest. Matt Lewis had 8 blocked shots.  The Highlanders are 15-4 overall and 5-0 in Marmonte League play.

The Royal boys’ water polo team took the Los Altos Tournament Championship.  Ben Cobb led the Highlander team by scoring 13 goals over the 5 game victories. Tyler McClure finished the tournament with 12 goals.  Juan Camero compiled 19 assists and goalie Mat Lewis made 19 saves.  The Highlanders are 9-2 overall.

Royal High School boys’ Water Polo team begins Marmonte League play with a great victory over #1 Agoura, 8-6.  Blake Hubbell led the Highlanders with 3 goals and 2 assists.  Ben Cobb added 2 goals.  Royal is 4-2 overall and 1-0 in League play.  Read the game story here.
